Podcast: Russian Word of the Day Launch
The Orlando Russian Culture Society has launched a daily podcast to promote learning of the Russian Language. Each day subscribers will hear and read a Russian word followed by the translation in English to help them build their vocabulary. The podcast uses a combination of blogging and social media software so that subscribers can listen and view the word of the day in their preferred outlet, including iTunes, Microsoft Zune, Twitter, Facebook, RSS and Wordpress.
The service is designed to help people find a starting point in learning Russian while promoting the language services of American Experience, sponsor of the Russian Culture Society. Future plans for advanced language podcasts will follow based on the popularity of this new venture. “This is very new for us so we want to see how it goes and then take the next step”, said Natalya Illarionova, President of American Experience and voice of “The Russian Word of the day”.
