Society Meetings

When is the next Meeting?

This is the number one question we receive in email, and the answer is always the same, soon! Meetings and events occur throughout the year on an average 2 times per month. We manage the announcements and notices through a website called "meetup.com" where you can view pictures of past events and sign up to receive alerts of future meetings. There is also a group calendar showing all past and future dates of interest. If you're interested in joining the society or simply want to try us out...please go to meetup.com, and join our group. This will let us know who you are, and allow your to RSVP to events you wish to attend. Please post a picture so we can readily recognize you when you arrive at your first meeting.

What to expect your first time

The meetings are very informal with a focus on conversation and an exchange of experiences on immigration, travel to Russia and adapting to life in the United States. The group is usually half American and half Russian. This allows everyone to mingle with each other and practice our language skills. A typical meeting lasts for 2 hours and we often end up talking outside the restaurant as well. It goes quickly and plans for the next meeting or event are eagerly awaited for. The group is very open to new comers as we all have been in that situation recently. You may feel awkward attending a meeting, but that will be forgotten within minutes of your arrival. If you are considering joining the group, you are always welcome to attend a meeting first, then decide. The Orlando Russian Culture Society meets each month at various locations throughout Central Florida. The group director can be contacted through this website via email at director@orlandorussians.com
