Easter Picnic in the Park

Photos from the Easter/Paskha Picnic on April 24, 2011 are now available. This event was a combined celebration of Paskha and the children’s space exploration contest. Festivites included an art contest, cookout, games, an egg hunt and of course lot’s of time chatting with friends. We also had several new comers at the event. The food was fantastic and we had plenty to share with everyone! Thanks to all who attended and made this a special day for the community and the children.

We had such a great celebration, over 80 people attended our event. The weather was perfect, and the natural surroundings mixed with lots of food, friendly faces and endless conversations made it a day to remember. This was our best cookout ever! Photos from Anti-Spy Party & Femme Fatale Beauty Contest

The Anti-Spy and Femme Fatale Beauty contest was a big success and a tremendous amount of fun for everyone that attended. The event, sponsored by Florida Russian Lifestyle Magazine, was held on August 29, 2010 at the Rosen Plaza’s Backstage club.

Guests arrived early to satisfy their curiosity about the program which included a beauty contest, performances by a professional belly dancer, Russian and American music and an audience controlled selection of awards. The audience selected three lovely ladies from the 14 contestants, as Ms James Bond, Ms Exotic and Ms Sophisticated.

The highlight of the evening came when the judges selected the winner of the beauty contest, she was crowned by the current feautred model for Florida Russian Lifestyle Magazine, and will be featured in the next issue of the magazine.

Shashlik in the Park a big success!

The Orlando Russian Culture Society held it’s 100th event on Sunday, April 11, 2010. The venue selected was a park where members could share food and cook “Shashlik” the Russian version of American shish-kabob. “This is our most requested activity, by far!”, said Jef Gray, director of the Society. “It’s the perfect way to commemorate 100 events since we started back in 2004.”

5th Anniversary Picnic Photos

The 5th Anniversary picnic was a big success and a great tribute to what has made our group last over the past 5 years. Great friends, conversation, food smiles and a warm spirit. We had some challenges with the occasional rain during the day but everyone huddled under our shelter until it passed.
